My first experience with an electrical stimulation device, I had involuntarily about 3 years ago.
placed after a sporting accident, the attending physician a tear in the hip muscles, and advised strongly to an operating room. The safe side, I had yet to make a CT scan, of the crack was also confirmed. The doctor in CT but said an operation might cause in this case also more harm than good and advised me rather the whole can heal itself. (What was absolutely in my mind).
The only problem was that I was not prepared for weeks to take painkillers.
What to do? After plenty of googling I came to the subject TENS.
Where can I get a TENS unit? Supplies was too expensive.
Amazon looked inside, ordered - after 2 days the unit was there. ( are good and cheap electrodes it here )
The operation revealed no mystery - in the evening, the electrodes on the hip and watching TV and device.
Have all the programs up and down test - at first nothing happened except that it is comfortable to the touch. First disappointment all round.
But! - After about 2 hours, put the pain and the next 2 days I had peace in my hip.
short - after 8 weeks of the muscle tear was not an issue.
My interest in the topic of electrical stimulation remained.
Mitllerweile I'm busy little more intense and determined that it is an area only to "professional idiot" not necessarily. Electrical stimulation is now used in many different ways, namely:
- The TENS in pain management (More info here )
- As an EMS in the electrical muscle stimulation
- When incontinence
- The Reflexology
- some contemporaries the devices found in adults games use (here I had no experience :-))
